FEATURED MISSION 1:
"BABY AIAH"
FEATURED MISSIONS
Below is the medical history of Baby Aiah,
who has an Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD)
Isaiah Mariel De Guzman was born last January 21, 2008. From all indications during her first year, Aiah as her family calls her seemed to be a normal baby girl. However that changed.

On January 21, 2009, exactly one year after Aiah’s birth, she started to show symptoms of being sick.

A persistent and recurring bout of pneumonia saw Aiah make her first trip to the hospital on February 2009. The pneumonia took its toll on her very young lungs causing severe damage. She was discharged from the hospital a month later.

Not too long after coming home, Aiah was again stricken with pneumonia. And on April 2009, she was back in the hospital. Doctors suspected Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). Aiah underwent lung biopsy. The doctors cut out 10 grams of lung tissue. The results of the biopsy showed that her lungs were hardened
and dark due to lack of oxygen. The biopsy also confirmed that it was indeed Interstitial Lung Disease.

On June 2009 Aiah was finally able to go home. She was prescribed oxygen and steroids for her ILD. For a month, Aiah showed signs of improved health.
However, on August 2009, Aiah was rushed back to the hospital because of recurrent pneumonia. This kept her hospitalized for several months again. Eventually she was given clearance to go home on October 22.

Yet another long hospital confinement came on December 2009. Again, Aiah was brought in due to pneumonia. Feb 5, 2010 she was submitted for another lung biopsy and cross section operations. And due to prolonged intubation, Aiah was subjected again to another operation, Tracheostomy – a surgical procedure on the neck to open a direct airway through an incision in the trachea (the windpipe). Aiah gave a good fight and she was indeed a fighter, and fortunately she was given again another chance to go home this May 4, 2010.

However, Aiah’s freedom from the hospital would be short lived as she was brought back to the hospital last May 12, Aiah’s supposedly regular check-up. She turned to have difficulty in breathing and needs another set of days to stay in the hospital. May 28 a Bullectomy operation performed to get rid some lung bullae seen in the middle right of her lung.
Despite all those setbacks, Aiah remained a fighter. She was discharged on July 5, 2010.

At the time of this writing she is still currently dependent to the mechanical ventilator machine that eats up at least three big medical oxygen tanks and also at least three big medical compress air tanks. Aiah’s condition is critical due to dependency on these airs.

Aiah needs your help. Her family has exhausted all their means in order to save Aiah’s life. Everyone deserves a right to life. If there’s a chance that Aiah can live she deserves that chance. We know it’s a tough battle for Aiah but if we all pitch in to help her, she has a better chance of living.

YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED!
As of July 22, 2010, Mystica Foundation just received a letter from The Kamanggagawa Foundation Inc. (KFI), the official Foundation of UNTV which is ‘Your Public Service Channel’. It is the TV Station directing all programs leading to public service and one of those is entitled “Good Morning Kuya”. One of its segments is the “Aksyon Ni Kuya” conceptualized to personally reach out and extend a helping hand to the less fortunate members of our society. It airs every Wednesday and Friday between 7:30am and 8:00am (via Sky & Home cable channel 21, local channel 37 and webcast via live streaming through www.untvweb.com), and  replays every Monday at 4pm.

In this regard, they were pleased to inform us that they were organizing a benefit concert for their baby client Isaiah Mariel de Guzman (Aiah) and they wanted to make me, as Mystica - the entertainer, a part of this noble cause by being one of the performers in said concert which was primarily to raise funds to sustain baby Aiah’s medical air needs and other medicines she is currently taking.
